  • mobility issues after bony bankart leasion

    Hi Docs,

At the end of last year, I had quite a bad fall while riding my bike to work. After consulting a physician and some imaging I was diagnosed with a bony bankart leasion. After some mandatory sessions with a physical therapist I was discharged as surgery wasn't needed.

After taking some rest and slowly trying to get back to lifting, I'm about halfway back to my original strength. However, I'm still experiencing a decreased range of motion. This prevents me from doing any form of squats, since I'm not able to get my arms back far enough to hold the bar, let alone support any amount of weight.

Do you guys have any tips on how to proceed? I'd like to regain enough mobililty to be able to do some decent presses and start squatting again.

    Thanks a lot
    Cheers

I've seen these lesions before in the context of shoulder dislocation, and typically refer them for surgical evaluation. Is that what happened to you?

As for training: Can you high bar squat? If not, use a Safety squat bar.
