  • Hip mobility

I have really limited hip external rotation and the right is notably worse than the left. It’s been this way as long as I can remember. I can squat and deadlift fine, but things like putting on my shoes or sitting on the floor is really difficult. I’m 38, no health problems, normal weight. Can I actually change my hip mobility with stretches to improve my capacity to do simple things like sit on the floor and put my shoes on without difficulty? I can squat to depth, no problem after a few creaky and stiff warm up sets.

You can likely improve your tolerance for these positions, yes. The approach of gradual exposure, just like training, would be similar.
