  • Caffeine Tolerance

Hey guys, I read in one of your newsletters that regular exposure to caffeine results in one of the enzymes that metabolise it to be upregulated. Does this mean that over time we should be slowly increasing our dosages of caffeine?

Not necessarily. It appears to increase to a certain point then stop, which causes the tolerance. I haven't seen good evidence for increasing doses over the long term, but my experience has been that we don't need more and more caffeine.
