    Smoked salmon is also considered a processed meat and contains many of the elements thought to be potentially harmful in other processed meats. While salmon can be part of a health-promoting diet, smoking it probably reduces this health-promoting effect.

    It seems like a smart thing to do to limit processed red meat intake, especially if you are consuming substantial portions every day, but what about other smoked animal products, such as smoked salmon? Marine animal products can be quite health promoting, but are there risks from consuming smoked salmon due to the smoking process?
