  • half asian/half caucasion maintain or slow bulk

    Hi,
I'm 6ft 180lbs. I've been eating at maintenance since August after a long break from the gym due to lockdown. My waist has dropped from about 35.5 inches to now ~32 inches while maintaining 180lb bodyweight. I ran the begginer prescription and am now half way through the bridge and I've been making slow and steady progress (much of it regaining strength from before). I was wondering if it's prudent (health-wise) to switch to a small surplus now or should I keep cals at maintenance and ride the wave until my waist stops dropping? I'm half asian half caucasian, so I was going to slow bulk until my waist reaches ~34 inches before cutting. (apologies I know you get this kind of question constantly!)
    Thanks!

I think you should get a little leaner before adding calories back. I'd keep your waist under 32-33" going forward.

This is helpful. I started at 38 inches and am now at 35. Had the same question. I'll eat at maintenance and continue to try to "recomp"
