  • Cholesterol in Eggs

Are they bad for health? I'm currently trying to increase my protein intake by adding 4-5 eggs a day. Does the cholesterol content in the yolk matters? Also are eggs a good source of protein?

For many, it doesn't matter. However, a high saturated fat intake in others can cause deleterious changes in their lipid panel. So, it depends.

No expert here, but yes, eggs are a good source of protein. If you're concerned about saturated fat, you could get cartons of egg whites and mix that with your eggs. I usually have 2 or 3 eggs with the equivalent of 2 or 3 eggs-worth of egg whites. The whites have 0 grams of fat and 5 grams of protein per serving compared to 6 grams in an egg (including yolk). This has made a big difference for me in trying to decrease my total fat intake.
