  • Bicep Tendinitis?

    Hello all!

Hope some are able to get to this message as I am in need of your expertise. Lately, I’ve been having pains in and around the medial/anterior part of my deltoid anytime I overhead press or bench press. Doesn’t hurt much when I do arm circles, but sometimes when I stretch it back a lot (bicep door stretch) I’ll feel it.

I asked two friends of my who are PTAs and without any evaluation they both deduced it was bicep tendinitis.
They said to take a few days off the gym, to just ice it, rest and take ibuprofen 800mg every 6 hours to reduce inflammation.

Any suggestions or conclusions from you end? I’d appreciate it!
    Thank you!

    Hey raggiopm94 ,

It's difficult to give individualistic advice without a consult. However, if you are dealing with a bicipital tendinopathy, I don't typically recommend rest but rather finding tolerable dosage of loading to the area. I also tend to dose in specific exercises for the area. such as biceps curls for this issue.
