  • Back pain

Hi Barbell medicine. I hope i am going about this the Right Way. I am a first time poster on the Forums, and english is not my first language so i hope i Can explain my self correctly.

i am writing this post because this monday i tweaked my lower back during a set of conventional Deadlifts, i was about to do todays single @8 when i heard a couple of pops. I shall note that i have previoulsy tweaked my back twice with this being the third time which is really frustrating.

the previous 2 times i have Gotten over Them just fine with the help of your content regarding this topic.

at the Time of this third incidense i experienced No signs on that Day that would give me any reason to Think that i was about to tweak it a third time. My symptoms that proceeded the two pops were the usual, sharp feeling of pain and a feeling of tightness around my lower lumbar area.
i Started checking myself for any red flag symptoms. Such as numbness radiating throughs my arm or legs and i have not experienced involuntarily toilet business etc. I tried Air squatting and Air RDL’s albeit uncomfortable i was able to do it. I then tried to do an empty SSB bar for set of 20 my symptoms seemed improved after that set.

As of writing this post it is now day 3 since it happened i am not pain free still feeling tight In lowback region its worse In the morning Hours.
Physical activity like In the previous two cases seems to help i have completed 1 full workout since that monday consisting of
    303 tempo SSB Squat with 135lbs/around 60kgs for 3x12-15
Bench training remains unchanged and i have ben taking lots of Walks with my Girlfriend and tomorrow i plan on doing 303 tempo Sumo Deadlift 3x12-15 at around 135lbs or lower if need be + the usual Bench training and even more walking.

ultimately what has me worried this time as opposed to the previous is i feel like it is taking me more time to recover this time and my symptoms only Seem to be better In the moment of training and taking walks. It still quite uncomfortable sitting for too Long bending over laying Down etc and i feel like the last two times all of these issues resolved pretty Quickly i would like to hear your thoughts about this as i May just be unnecessarily worrysome about it this Time. Thank you guys for alle the great content you are producing i have found it really helpfull !!! I hope i made myself understandable In the post.

    Best regards - Mikkel

Hey Mikkel - sorry to hear about your recent low back pain. However, sounds like overall you are managing well by remaining active to tolerance. My only recommendation is to have patience with the process. Often we see folks trying to rush through these experiences in order to lift a particular load rather than embracing the process. When the approach is over anchored to lifting particular loads usually folks have consistent spikes in symptoms resulting in frustration. This is one of the many reasons we emphasize that regardless of load being lifted, you are still training and that's a major plus to long term health benefits.
