  • Problems from DB curls

My wife was doing some DB curls. During one rep, she heard a sharp snapping sound (pop) and the muscle or tendon on the outside of her elbow felt wrong. She tried another rep and the same thing happened. Now the area is achy. There are no black and blue marks and she doesn't have a problem moving her arm. This is not one of her usual exercises.

Does this sound like something serious? Is there anything she should do other than to proceed cautiously the next time she does these?

    Hi quark,

Based on the information you provided here, it doesn't sound like there is anything going on that would warrant any aggressive intervention. I would try increasing the rep range and moving at a slower tempo (i.e. reducing the load) for next time to see if that is more tolerable.
