  • Template RPE calculator question.

    My wife is currently running one of your templates and we have question about decrepancy in the estimated RPEs generated by the calculator. Her demographics are as follows. 60 y/o female that has been training for 5 months. Her one meet produced a squat PR of 170.9 lb that was likely a 10 RPE. When I plug that into the calculator it estimates that she should be able to do a set of 5 at RPE of 8 with 138 lb. However in reality her 5 @ 8 is about 115 lbs. This results in a 17% descrepency. Any thoughts on how to explain this? Is the calculator less accurate based on gender, age, training experience???

    Hi there, the calculator is definitely a guide, not a rule. I'd expect that this is due primarily to her training experience, not age or gender. As she trains more, this will get more accurate.
