Writing an app is not that simple, or cheap for that matter. Besides, I think I recall Jordan mentioning he would want an all inclusive app. One that can track lifting, nutrition, and maybe medical info too. That is a much larger task. I doubt there would be a large enough market to get payback on something like that.
Probably the best way to go would be how RTS is doing it. Just provide a free web app that can track everything. In exchange for access to the web app, BBM gets access to the data. In effect, it would be a more sophisticated, easier to analyze version of the Starting Strength Logs.

Hey Jordan,
Not sure if you actually are interested in this idea but if you are, I'm a 3rd year Computer Science student and looking for a project over the summer holidays and would be interested in taking something like this on. -
I have some data I've collected from the cohort I'm monitoring. I haven't figured out a good way to do it without very expensive software for the number of people using the bridge (>20,000). Bridge v2.0 includes some things we learned and we continue to tweak it. We'll keep looking for ways to collect data better too.Leave a comment:

"Collect Data on Outcomes"
The title of my topic is one of the stated goals of "The Bridge." When I read it, I assumed that BBM was intending to collect data from individuals that run the program as a means of refining their coaching strategies, but since no means of providing data was listed, I'm concluding that this was an incorrect assumption, and instead that the data is for the individual, and potentially their coach.
As I appreciate your providing the program, I wish I could contribute back by providing my "data" from running the program in some standard format some day. (I'll note that I'm anticipating running the program soon, but haven't yet) In the mean time, said data/experience will be a contributing factor in my decision on spending $ on one of your programming packages down the road.Tags: None
