  • Front Squat Accessory Lift

    Hi Guys

What are your thoughts on front squats as a supplemental lift for quad development? I believe my weak quads are contributing to a tendency for me to "good morning" my heavier low bar squats (correct me if this train of thought is wrong). Currently I am on week 6 of the 12 week strength program and was thinking of adding 3 x 5 front squats at the end of each session.

    Thanks

I don't think that's a good idea in this context. If you have to take a little weight off the comp squat in order to perform it correctly, do that. 3x5 front squats after each session represents a significant increase in squatting volume and training stress that may be inappropriate at this time.
