    Somewhat of an off-topic question (sorry): is there anything worthwhile that I can do to improve flexibility of hamstrings/lower back? Whenever I sit on the floor to play with my son, I can't find a comfortable position and my lower back starts aching after a few minutes. I tried stretching before but if it works it works too slowly and I lose motivation..

    I think stretching is the wrong course of action, as these symptoms are unlikely to be caused by lack of flexibility. You might find that sitting on the floor more often helps you out here, e..g while watching TV. Alternatively, you might find that there's nothing that can be done after heavy deadlifts lol.
