  • Adjusting Deadlift Rep Scheme re: Hex Plates

I try to schedule my deadlift sessions on days where I have access to proper round plates. On some days, due to missed workouts and such, my lifting schedule gets moved around, so I need to do my deadlift workout on a day when I only have access to the dreaded hexagonal plates. I am wondering if EMOM@8.5-9 can be substituted. am doing 1x5 @9 with 4-5 drop sets (-8%) at the moment for deadlifts. Last time I used hex plates I did 10 x EMOM@9ish. Let me know if you have better ideas.

Switching from multiple sets of 5 to doing EMOMs @ 9 is a pretty significant change in stimulus. I can't say how well such a thing might work.

You could also just pull your sets with full resets between reps.

I will try the full resets with mixed grip. I've been using straps - the bent over shuffle of the feet just doesn't work.

        Yep, that makes sense.
