  • Squat Grip

    Hi,

    My grip is very wide where my thumbs are over markings on the bar.
    I am looking for ways to get it narrower and improve back tightness.
    I believe it is due to lack of my shoulder mobility.
    Any suggestions?

    By squatting more and working on bringing in your grip little by little, you'll see it improve. However, you also need to be working on simply getting your upper back tight, regardless of the grip position. Many people have a grip similar to yours, so when you set up under the bar, be sure to get your upper back TIGHT under the bar (you might think about pulling your chest open and pinching your upper back), then un-rack, walk out, get tight again, and squat.
