I am 47 and my numbers are literally within just a few pounds of yours. I have found adding a "light" day in the middle, 80% lower and 90% upper, is allowing me to keep running my LP without it feeling so horrible. It might be worth a try.

When you are unable to continue with SSLP, I would switch to intermediate programming. We like The Bridge as a general recommendation.

    LP/Older Athlete/Jiu Jitsu

Hello. I'm 43. Enjoy Jiu Jitsu 3 x week. No season. Decided Dec 1 to drop to 1x week Jiu-Jitsu and run LP.

Progress on straight LP no resets yet:

    Weight 185 - 205
    Squat 165 - 265
    Press 90 - 116.5
    Bench 130 - 165
    DL 225 - 315

Workouts are starting to get rough, grindy, and lengthy

Long-term goal is to balance strength gainzz and sport with Jiu-Jitsu 3 x week and barbell 3 x week

When should I switch up programming what would you recommend the next programming look like?

Working...
