Thanks Jordan, I have a terrible schizo Brit habit of giving height and weight in Freedom Units and barbell weights in metric.

Not actually depressed, just a bit listless and irritable. I wonder if the glute injury is just affecting my sleep and making me grouchy.

    Today hit a squat for 115kg x 5, 117.5 x 5, 120 x 5, and a press for 55kg x 5 x 3. Will try to ramp back up to previous numbers and keep macros the same.

Your strength appears to be maintaining or slightly improving, but if those lifts are not in kilos the reason why you're strength isn't doing better is because you are a novice (likely). Your recovery appears fine objectively, but if you're depressed then that's another thing.

Down 7lb in the last four weeks. Rowed a 5k in 25 mins on initial test.

    First week e1RM
    Bench 108
    Press 72
    Squat: 145
    Deadlift: 172

    Have since benched 87.5 x 5 x 3, pressed 60 x 5 x 3, squatted 120 X 5 x 3, deadlifted 147.5 x 5 x 3 and 180 for a single and PR. Maintaining strength at least.
The glute pain has only now started to clear after some deep tissue work and is aggravated by sitting or lying down for extended periods. It has been impossible to row on the C2 without spasm, so substituted with walking/running Fartlek style on a treadmill.

Slower recovery is subjective I confess. Harder to wake up to the alarm clock, depressed mood and irritability.

What are your numbers for the 1st week and the last two weeks as far as actual reps and est 1RM?

What are your conditioning numbers like?

    Has your body weight changed?

What do you mean by "slower recovery"?

    Hi gents,

Have been running this for a few weeks, but in the past 5-6 days have noticed slower recovery, pain and spasm in my right glute minimus, reduced sleep quality and appetite. End result of course is reduced training volume and the beginnings of strength loss.

    28yo, 6'0, 205lb
    Macros 230P, 250C, 70F

Might the calories be too low?

    Best,

    Stuart
