Training frequency doesn't appear to matter much (for hypertrophy) until we're getting into much higher volume, e.g. 15-20+ sets. I don't think I'd recommend training every day or twice a day unless you have to in order to get it all in.
    thanks for the clarification Jordan!

  • Regarding high frequency, hypertrophy and stress threshold

Hello guys, I have been wondering about a particular question and couldnt find anything about it on the forum or facebook page.
Is there any evidence that suggests a minimal stress threshold that needs to be achieved in a particular period of time or session to stimulate hypertrophy?
When we talk about high frequency, and lets say, hitting squats, bench, and deadlifts, for 2 sets @8 everyday, would this maybe fail to be enough stress for the reason of not accumulating fatigue enough on a session to session basis? I thought about it when I assumed the extreme of doing 1 set in the AM and 1 in the PM, even if it were 14 sets per week, maybe because its so spread out wouldnt stimulate as much adaptation as if it were done in 2 session of 7 sets each?

I hope I managed to make my question clear! Thanks!
