    Programming Question

Hey Guys! I’m brand new to the forum, and not sure what questions I can ask on here lol, but I thought I’d ask a pressing question I’ve had.

Ive been doing my own version of an HLM setup I tried to make. I did this because I really want to learn how to program to one day coach other athletes.

    My Current Lifts:
    Best Squat 385 @8
    Best Bench 255x2 @10
    Best Deadlift 405x2 @9

Here is what I have been running for about 26 weeks straight after LP:

    Monday:
-Heavy Squat (3 week cycle) (Week 1 1x5 backdown work 3x5, week 2 1x3 backoff work 4x5, week 3 1x1 backoff work 5x5, then bump up the weight 5lbs the next cycle for everything)
    -Medium Close-grip Bench 3x5 then backoff 10% at 2x8-10)
-Light Back Work (Barbell Row 3x8-10)

    Wednesday:
    Overhead Press 5x5
Light Squat 3x5 10% off volume weight for heavy day
    Heavy Deadlift (3 week cycle)

    Friday:
Heavy Bench (Same 3 week cycle as the squat)
Medium Squat 4x5 5% off volume weight for Heavy day
    Medium Deadlift 3x5

I’m really considering doing 1 on 1 coaching with y’all in the next few weeks.

    MY QUESTIONS:
    1. Is it reasonable for me to make better(and faster) progress than my 5lb increases every 3 weeks?
    2. What would be y’all’s general recommendation for me programming and weight wise right now?

    R2R,

    1) Probably not, no. I don't think you can reliably add 5lbs to the bar each week anyway.
    2) The Bridge or Powerbuilding I

What would be the benefits of me doing 1 on 1 right now? Is that something that would make a difference in my progress vs going with the programs you listed?

Probably, though it can take some time to suss out what works well for an individual. The benefits of 1-on-1 are that we can do that in real-time, whereas a template doesn't really change, plus form checks, and dialogue with your coach.
