  • Possible Powerbuilding I Typo

Hey, BBM. I just completed the 2nd lifting day of week seven in the PB I template. While knocking out bench, I noticed that one single at 8 is prescribed, followed by 3 sets of 3 reps at RPE 8, finally followed by 2 sets of 5 reps at 75%. Is this a typo? I ask because the rest of the main slots call for a single at 8, followed by a triple at 8 and then a few sets of back-off triples. The 3x3 at 8 and 2x5 portion of the bench prescription seemed like abnormally high volume comparatively speaking as all the other competition slots are just one heavy triple subsequent to the single. Just wanted to check. Thanks, guys!

    GB,

Nope, that's 100% supposed to be in there for the bench work as a hedge that the upper body may need more volume. It's only 20 total reps though, so not really "abnormally" high volume in our view.

Abnormal was probably not the best choice of words. I was speaking to the fact that the bench volume prescription relative to the prescribed volume in the other comp lifts for that week was just a bit different. That was the nature of my confusion. But that clears things up. I will continue to run it as written. Thanks, Jordan!
