  • Accessory Bench question

    Hello BBM crew!!

Thanks for all the great content you folks put out!! It's much, much appreciated.

I just purchased a Rogue fitness manufactured Kabuki Kadillac bar. I've been curious about adding a multi grip bar into my training for sometime now. I've never used a camberd or multi grip bar before.
I'm currently starting week 5 of Powerbuilding 3, was thinking I could plug it into one of the bench slots for the 2nd block, question is which one? Thoughts?

Awesome, these can be fun to train with.

Any of the non-competition bench slots are fine for supplemental movement substitutions.

        hi! dr. baraki,

does that 3.5" increase in range of movement make that much difference (the rogue multi-grip camber bar)? really like the idea of a more neutral grip, but am curious about balance (its frame is 7" wide where you grip it) -- did you find that it "moves" around on you when the weight gets heavy or is it similar using dumbbells?

I used this for my feet up BP yesterday. First time using it. I used the widest grip, which I assume you're getting the longest ROM with the camber. It took ~30lbs off of what I'd be using with just a straight bar. So with the very small time I've used this sofar I'd say the camber makes a bit if difference.

It's not really similar to DB benching, but feels more similar to a regular bench press "moving" with you on the bench close grip (or reverse grip) bench ROM wise.

Thanks Dr. Feigenbaum. This forum is gold - as was the seminar (San Diego 2020) - best money I ever spent. Dropped 50 pounds and have kept it off since the seminar - made additional dietary changes per the cholesterol articles and my MD can't believe the improvement. Suspect those changes will give me another 100,000 miles :-) THANK YOU!
