  • Thoughts on Selye theory

    I just read an article on EliteFTS concerning the SRA theory, and if I remember Austin posted something on Instagram about some new studies concerning the original Selye study. Has there been any new studies that either confirm or even tear apart the original study? And what opinion, if any, does the BBM crew have concerning this theory, as in do you still use it as the basis for your programs?
    As a scientist who studies the fundamental basis of how muscles get bigger and repair in response to stress, and as a lifter who has always cared a bunch about programming, I find the debate surrounding GAS very interesting.

    Yes, we have lots of thoughts on this. I actually give a whole hour lecture on this topic at our seminar, so it's a bit more than I can type here. But yes, I do not think the GAS idea as originally conceived is a good model for physical training.

      Have you done any Youtube's or have you written anything accessible to those of us who haven't been to a seminar? If you have and I haven't found it, I apologize.
