Hey all,

New to this community, so please forgive any missteps! I am an athlete recovering from my first “major” injury - a fibula fracture with some minor ligament damage to my right ankle. Unfortunately it required surgery which I had on the weekend and I now have a metal plate in my leg and am stuck in a plaster cast for the next few weeks.

Any advice on how to intelligently expedite the recovery process would be greatly appreciated. The cast is putting considerable strain on my knee and hip so any tips to help reduce that would be great too!

Weight bearing exercises, when to start them, generally staying fit while in a cast (in the Canadian winter no less) any supplements or treatments you could recommend would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks !
