  • I'm pushing as hard as I can...I wonder if I'm pushing too hard?
    Old Doc Codger thinks you're probably entitled to cut yourself some slack under these circumstances. I guess the trick will be to find a level that you can sustain during these treatments. Maybe in the RPE 7 range?

      I'm working at an honest RPE 8 range on Squats and Deads at the moment.

      Yeah the strength is down, but it's the recovery that is a bitch. And I'm trying to cut rest periods, which makes things "interesting".

          Ehhhh, foods an issue. Simply because what goes in, goes out violently.

          So, I'm eating what I can, but the majority of my calories / protein come through shakes.

          My weight is slowly dropping. I started radiation at a chubby ( ) 206, I'm down to 201. As long as I stay in the 190's, I won't freak out too much.

                Close Grip Bench - 62.5kg 5*5
                Wide Grip Bench - 72.5kg 5*5
                Paused Squat - 85kg 5*5

                Horizontal IYT - 10lbs 10*3
                Wide Grip Pull Ups - bw *10, *9, *9

                Do a little bit more, a little bit better...

                    Day 19 of Radiation, weight is slowly dropping, having the shit's daily will do that to you. The reason that my treatment regimen is 45 days is that they're treating the lymph nodes as well as the prostate. Though there wasn't any lymph node involvement detected with the scans taken, they want to be conservative and hit any potential "problems". Who am I to disagree?!?


                    Paused Deficit Deads, slow eccentric - 130kg 4*5
                    Hip Thrusts - 90kg 10*4
                    Press - 52.5kg 3*3
                    Spoto Larsen Bench - 72.5kg 5*5

                            So, it being that we're in NYS, we're closed for business as of 8:00pm tonight. SMDH...we're a small, private gym. At best we can handle 20 athletes at one time...AT BEST.
                            A majority of our athletes are in heathcare: nurses, DO's, Dr's...we're all adults and we know how to adhere to proper procedures. Yet the list of those closed and the those who are open to conduct business MAKES NO SENSE.

                            The authorities are handling this as if the Black Death is about to overwhelm us. It's a fucking cold virus, that while new and it attacks a particular demographic, it's still a COLD VIRUS.

                            God knows, I'm in an "at risk" demographic, but I'm not running around with my hair on fire, worried that the people around me are disease vectors. I limit where I go, I limit who I'm around...and the people who frequent the places I go are ADULTS who practice the same habits. We're giving up some basic rights without giving a thought to why and for what reasons. And yes, I understand about "bending the curve"...where we're these arguments a few years back during the other crises that killed far more people before they were accorded some degree of concern. Makes a person cynical, suspicious...

                            #end rant

                            Hopefully I can find a friend with a home gym in the meantime.
