      Dropped bb rows until after the meet, so just included this with today for the session tally


      Went for a 1st and 2nd attempt simulation today for squats.
      I didn't record my warmups to verify depth, since i don't do that at meets.
      I also added pressure by eliminating 403 in between 393 and 413.
      Knowing that if i missed 413 as a 2nd, it would have real consequence for my confidence with only 3 squat sessions remaining.
      All went well.
      Both reps were to depth.
      413 is my meet best, so it looks like i can set myself up for an actual PR attempt 3rd attempt.

      In kilos, that works out to a 391.3lb opener, so a tiny bit lighter than what i'm rehearsing with.
      It's a little heavy, but i have tripled 386, so close enough.
      I need it to be heavy enough to prepare me for the 413
      3 more squat sessions to polish up that jump to 413 and the execution.

        Opener and 2nd attempt. Got a little loose on the chest on the 2nd, but it wasn't much of a problem.
        I've improved in that area so even losing it some is better than my best other times.

          I knew i was fatigued for top end strength today, but went for 413 again.
          Bit my tongue a little getting ready to unrack, and ended up stepping back and redoing set up.
          The good from this rep was i pushed through what would absolutely have been a fail at any other time in my lifting history, and it was deep.
          The bad is it would have been redlighted for not locking out.

          New plan with two squat sessions left is make 386/175 my opener, and probably 402.3/182.5 my 2nd, rest up and save 413/187.5 for my 3rd on meet day.
          I've hit it enough to have confidence.
          That will match my meet best and place that mark an age class up in the records.
          It also sets me up for my total target.

          It's only been the last several days i began to entertain the possibility for 419/190 as a 3rd, and i would only have done that if 413 was shown to be a realistic 2nd, and so my result in case of a fail w/ 419.

          Of course, squating Friday and Sunday is not meet week simulation, but that doesn't change how i feel about 413 as 2nd.

            Moving normally again this week.
            Still dialing back attempts for the meet.
            We'll see what happens for a 3rd
            441 opener allows me to drop one of my usual 425 warmup reps, so could save some energy and set me up well for my 3rd attempt whatever it ends up being.

                Well, these were less than stellar.

                386 was decent, not as sunk as i'd like the opener to be.
                i've got a few more reps to get set for the meet.
                Not sure how good things are looking for matching my meet best 187.5kg, but i'm keeping an open mind.

                      First meet as a Masters3 93kg raw.
                      USAPL Maine State Championships

                      187.5kg squat ~ matches meet best ~ 190 was there.
                      112.5kg bench ~ 7.5kg meet best
                      215kg DL ~ 12.5kg meet best

                      8 for 9 because i switched my 3rd dl from 220kg to 227.5.
                      Got it about midshin.

                      Was nice to see all those red plates though.
                      Next time, red plates, next time.

                      Puts me #14 all years USAPL M3a raw

                      535kg total will get me top 10.
                      Gonna see how close i can get to that for a November meet.

                              Changing up rows a little

                              Maybe 3 or 4 weeks since i've done rows, but i think these hit the valsalva a little differently regardless of that.
                              Maybe more compression from the added leg action, dunno.
                              Stopped at 4 reps the first set b/c i got lightheaded, and had one set where the last 2 reps were slow for the same reason.
                              I got more comfortable after a few sets, and got more aggressive and had a lot faster reps.

                              I think i like them though.
                              Can feel them more through my body than when i was limiting the torso & leg cheat action more to keep the focus in the upper back.
