Hey guys,
I train 4 days a week, T/R/Sa/Su, but occasionally need to move a day to Wednesday due to wife’s schedule. I am currently doing some squatting T/R/Su (belt squat/front squat/SSB) and was wondering if normally having 1-2 days between each squat session makes back to back days something of a spike in acute:chronic work, ie going from no more than 1 squat workout every 2-3 days to 2 squat workouts in 2 days.
I’m not particularly concerned, just curious.
Thanks!
It doesn’t matter that much
Carry on!
Thanks, I managed to move squats back a day.
But I wasn’t necessarily asking this in regards to my own training, just using it as an example for a broader question about ACWR. It seems it looks more at weekly workload and not daily, as you indicated changing workload abruptly would not be a problem. This seems to fall in line with undulating (work)load daily, so is there something about increased workload for a sustained period time like, say, a week that is necessary to induce some kind of change that will increase injury risk?
