Hi,
I’m in the middle of receiving an antirabies vaccine (doze 2/3 this morning). From the first dose I was forbidden (written in capital letters on the doctor’s sheet) caffeine/chocolate.
I’m confused why as I searched all over google for anything related to this and found nothing. Read the vaccine supplier’s prospectus (Verorab) and there is nothing about it.
I even went to a more vague route and searched for a link between vaccines and caffeine in general… nothing
I asked the doctor this morning again ehy I’m forbidden and she said to avoid side effects. I already had 2 migrains last week bcs of no caffeine so I already have side effects lol.
I’m ok with suffering a little more, but curious from where all yhis is coming from.
If you have some insights, would be great! Thanks
I do not have any information on this, as it’s the first time I’ve heard of it. Whether or not it’s true, I cannot say. I’d be asking the doctor for information on the possible side effects and where this is coming from. It was not readily available to me when looking at the drug information or administration guidelines. Doesn’t mean it’s not true, as this is not something I’m super familiar with.
Hi Jordan, thanks for reply. Doc only told me of migraines as side effects and the reason being that the vaccine acts via the nervous system and you don’t want to stimulate it with these substances… but you can stimulate it a lot via other routes (e. g. sex).
Interesting. I’ve never heard of that, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true!
