Arm Fracture 2006

Good Morning Drs.

My question is concerning a right humerus fracture I sustained back in 2006. The bone was repaired with a plate and screws. The doctor had stated that the hardware would not need to be removed. I have had it reexamined 2 times over the last several years due to pain. Most recently last November. Every time I get the same answer that everything looks fine and it shouldn’t need to be removed. Although the injury doesn’t hinder everyday activities it does cause me some issues when weight training. Bench press by far causes a “give out” sensation in my arm especially at the bottom of the rep. One other movement that I would describe as painful would be throwing a baseball or football. I cant pick something up and through it more than a few times without a lot of pain. Not that I’m throwing a lot of objects but it seems odd to me that I still have considerable issues. During bench or dips pain isn’t really the word id describe the sensation so “give out” is the best way I can describe it. It causes me to be very cautious with my first few reps. While it hasn’t completely hindered my progress I believe it has slowed and even stalled it at times. My question really comes down to should I get the hardware removed and if so what is my recovery timeline?

Thank You Sirs
