Arm training and compound moves

If we do 10 sets of back work, does that towards videos weekly volume also and if so how much? Somewhere I had read online that it can be counted as 1/2 a set for biceps for each back set? Naturally some movements like pulling involve more biceps that rows.

Meaning if I want to do 20 sets of biceps a week, and did 10 sets of back for the week (5 row 5 pulling) then does that mean 5 sets of biceps for the week are done and I should do another 15 sets of direct arm work or I should just view arms as fully separate from back and do 20 sets of direct arm work if I want to do 20 per week?

Same question for triceps

I do 12-15 reps for compound back moved and use mind muscle connection so I try to minimize bicep involvement even in pull ups and lat pull downs with RIR 2, which means using lesser weight than I would use Otherwise

I do not count indirect work on arms in weekly set volume for programming purposes, but as mentioned in the other thread, I do not think “sets per week” is a great metric in isolation.

Of course, the arms are still getting some training stress in these movements and that will contribute to growth on some level. I just don’t personally count them when it comes to calculating training load.
