Hey Docs!

After having vertigo symptoms for a few weeks, I went to an ENT specialist who diagnosed Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).

Aside from prescribing the Epley maneuver to do at home, he told me to avoid lifting heavy weights for 2 weeks.

I wanted to get your view on whether this is - generally speaking - really necessary; i.e. would you advice BPPV patients to avoid lifting?

thanks!

Toby

This advice is not really based in any direct evidence that I’m aware of.

It’s not part of my routine advice.
