Cayenne as a procebo

I’m doing the Bridge (that name sounds like a mega church ) and I really like it. The RPE system has been excellent. As soon as I start questioning my intensity I see that word maybe. I used to go to failure on everything and end up sleeping poorly and being angry in the morning. Before I blame the cayenne it’s clear the program is a good fit.

Years ago I used capsaicin cream to reduce symptoms from doda withdrawal. This was inspired by the relief gained by hot showers. I recently read about cayenne enhancing the positive feelings generated from working out. I started thinking of it as a procebo because I get a nice warm feeling in my belly while working out and I haven’t missed any workouts in the bridge .

Can the cayenne create tolerance or hurt my health? Sorry for such a weird question. I have internet “magical food” thinking.

I don’t think capsaicin is uniquely beneficial or harmful, in general. Some individuals with reflux can’t tolerate it. Outside of that, I think it’s fine.
