# Change to wide grip bench

I’ve been benching with a fairly narrow grip for the last few years. I always have some degree of shoulder pain, but I have learned to ignore it. Programming called for wide grip bench, and damn if it didn’t feel good. Has me thinking now.

Strangely I had the opposite experience - been benching wide grip for a while, switched to a narrower grip and felt stronger.
