I live in Flagstaff, AZ. My fitness motivation is to be able to look at my week and, depending on weather and work, plan to mountain bike, ski powder, shoot arrows, lift weights, hike the Grand Canyon, or roll jiu-jitsu. I enjoyed early gains in Crossfit but ran into the idea that to get better at Crossfit you have to do more Crossfit (similar “stop what you do and focus on X” experiences with Jiu-Jitsu, Oly lifting, and endurance training plans).
In Dec. I stopped everything to focus on a quality LP (I am still making gains). As I look at an Intermediate program I am running into the “focus on X and ignore why you wanted to get strong” problem. But the Bridge seems to allow for Meso/Microcycling around sport.
What do you think about rearranging the microcycles of the Bridge around the weather? For instance, next week we are supposed to get two storms, could I plan a low stress Bridge week and ski a bunch. The following week I could do a mod. stress week. Ultimately, I would complete the 8-week Meso, just in a bit of a different order.
The goal is to use the Bridge to slowly get stronger while still doing sport.
So, could the Bridge be my Unicorn?
