Hi,
I’m currently doing the SSLP and into my 4th week.
My stats are
Age-33
Height-6’3”
weight-224lb
My current lifts are
Squat-264lb
Press-115.5lb
Bench-198lb
Deadlift-357.5lb
Due to the coronavirus the gyms are closed for 6 weeks so I’m forced to train in the station where I work.
Unfortunately I can only train twice per week due to this.
Would you recommend I just continue with the programme as normal and increase the weight each session, or should I increase the reps or sets to make up for the missed workout?
I also don’t do power cleans, I just deadlift or the odd time I might do some rows.
Any help or guidance would be immensely appreciated.
Thank you
If your preference is to continue on that program, you can just continue doing it twice a week for now and move on when you stop responding.
With that said, we have discussed our view on the downsides of that particular program and have other options available as well, if you are interested.
Thanks for the reply Austin.
Do you mean downsides to the programme as in the SSLP?
I’d be interested in the other options as I’m looking
to train with whatever programme you think is best suited?
-focusing on only 4 exercises, e.g. minimal exercise variation.
No autoregulation
No rep scheme variation
-No conditioning
etc. etc.
We’d recommend any program that you like, yet also hits those above criteria. Our Beginner Prescription/Template is a great option: The Beginner Prescription
Thanks Jordan and Austin, appreciate the help.
I’ll look at the beginner template and take it from there.
It may take awhile to get going as I’m limited on being able to train but I’ll get started now.
Thanks again
