DB Press Start Position

Hi all,

Trying to settle a debate here - when you do a dumbbell press, is the start position before the first rep with your arms extended? Or with the weight on your chest/shoulders? And is it the same for incline presses?

in other words, does a rep go eccentric > concentric, or concentric > eccentric?

To me, the start position is at the bottom, which is also where they finish. This is made up and arbitrary though. If someone described it how you did, I’d be cool with that.
