Equipped Lifting: "Sharpening" CNS with overload

I saw a high level lifter make this claim on IG - Do briefs, suits, slingshots, knee wraps etc “sharpen” (her word) the CNS through overload? If the main goal if lifting raw, are they too non-specific to carry over?

I think equipped work can be useful for developmental phases of training in the right lifter, but I wouldn’t use it in a new lifter or as the meet drew near.
