Eyelid twitches

Hey everyone,

In the last few weeks, I have experienced quite a lot of eyelid twitches. They are always on my left eye, seem to be related to mechanical stuff related to the eye (e.g. rubbing, sneezing, splashing water etc) and last for like 5-20 seconds. Happens multiple times per day. I had a similar thing last year for a couple of weeks but it resolved on its own. This time it seems to be a bit longer .

Any idea for the reason of this? Basis for concern?

This is known as blepharospasm. It is quite common, usually benign, and typically gets better on its own. If yours does not resolve, or if it become associated with other neurological symptoms, medical evaluation may be helpful, as there are some treatments (eg botox injections) that can mitigate the issue.
