Hello Dr’s,

I have had a whirlwind of a past few months with some injuries, family issues, and general life stress. Long story, I have fallen off my regular training cadence and been struggling to get back in. I am feeling the motivation again and life circumstances are opening up…thankfully. I have run Strength I, Powerbuilding I and II, Beginner Template, and the Weightlifting Template in the past.

I have still been managing to get in the gym once or twice a week, but just been trying to do some maintenance training. My capacity has been massively hit and I end up being so sore after training those one or two days a week, so I thought I would ask where I should start again? Just lower intensity and pick one I enjoy? Start at beginner and go from there? My goals are just general health and strength and I enjoy the barbell, so no goals of competing. I like seeing the numbers go up like anyone, but I generally just like the process of training. Hopefully the context helps. I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Patrick

I’d probably start at the Beginner Template phase II if it’s been 1 to 3 months or phase I if it’s been longer than that. Glad to have you back, Patrick. Let me know if I can help in any way!

Sounds good, I will start there. I appreciate the response Dr. Feigenbaum.

Have a good week,
Patrick
