Hello my name is Jon, and I’ve been an athlete(basketball and tennis and track) since 14 picked up weights at 17 I started with body weight exercises but then moved up to deadlift and bench, umm, basically fast forward to 21 I stopped working out at 20 I’ve had multiple ankle sprains injury, and been dealing with back pain for a year had a mri got herniated disc and bilateral facet hypertrophy in lower back, I now have on and off neck pain and I’ve been also have feet pain, on the soles when standing for about a year. Not sure you would qualify me as a lift but at 19 I was benching 200 I was 150 lbs back then and was deadlift 2 plates for reps, probably had bad form etc. but I was into body weight exercises so I was advanced in that, but yeah that’s my story I basically can’t do much now but it’s whatever I can’t control what happens I’ll just be a lot more aware if j can ever hit the gym again in the future when lifting since I’m a lot more educated now.
Hi Jon,
Sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had in the past. I did not see a specific question here, but if you are looking for rehabilitation guidance for this set of issues, I would recommend consultation with one of our coaches. I would also recommend checking out our articles, podcasts, and Youtube videos on pain and injury to learn more about how to manage this situation.
