For an imbalanced novice athlete (i.e. someone who benched but skipped leg day, so that bench = body weight = squat), would it make sense to start with SSLP? Or should the programming be tailored to intermediate for the stronger movement (bench) including accessory work, while taking a more novice/LP approach for the weaker movement (squat), so that we effectively end up with a hybrid program (LP and Bridge) for the most gainzzz in all areas?

I don’t think it matters, as 1 year training progress for the bench press would likely be the same regardless. The 3 months spent going through LP for the deadlift, squat, and press would be a good move for novice training development.
