Neck Discomfort on Exercises

So for a year or so I’ve been getting noteworthy neck discomfort on a bunch of exercises; upright rows, lateral raises, curls, variations of rows, shrugs etc. It’s clear to me at this point that “it’s not gonna fix itself” and so I am considering buying a neck harness to do extensions with. Of course before it would great to have some insight of all my options for it.
