Hi docs, I have a question about a symptom I began feeling a while ago.
A quick background first. I stopped working out on the beginning of the pandemic for about 2 months. Then I went back on the “work from home” template. I was doing a lot of volume and paused reps (to compensate for my lack of weights), something that I had not done before. The split squats felt specially weird on my knees a few times - no pain, just some discomfort. I did about 4 months of this template.
A bit over two months ago, while still on the working out from home, I started feeling some discomfort on the outside of my right knee - it didnt hurt to walk or do any activity. There was just a constant feeling in that area that made me always aware of it. The weird thing was that if I massaged the outside of the knee, I could feel the nerve all the way down on the top of my foot, right before the thumb.
Now the gym reopened and I am back on the powerbuilding I template. I’ve been doing it for a month. Today was deadlift day. Everything went well, but when I came back home and started working (sat down in front of a computer), I felt a sharp pain on the outside of the right knee. This happened a few times and it would go away if I moved the leg (extending and flexing the leg).
I guess my question is: is this something I should be concerned and see a doctor about? Any general recommendations to prevent it from getting bad?
