Hey Docs,

Hope you’re doing good and progressing in the training 💯

I’ve got question about increasing pushups, or in general physical endurance:

I’ve seen a couple dudes that are able to lift 315lbs on bench, but not able to do more than 30 pushups. Why is that and how to solve that problem?

Thanks, Dan

I haven’t seen that too much, as [bench press and push-up strength](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24983847/) do seem to [carry over pretty well](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7196742/) to one another.

For people where there’s a discrepancy, I look for a large deficit in training one of the movements , such as never doing push-ups. For body weight movements, I also look at relative strength (strength: bodyweight) since a high body mass can lead to this sort of finding at times.
