I stumbled upon this [https://youtu.be/01dB5lwQ4G8?is=TSXUIVHvJct8Oqwo](https://youtu.be/01dB5lwQ4G8?is=TSXUIVHvJct8Oqwo). First time heard about this guy dr. Sean O’Mara and his “living diet” secret (??), and it’s pure gold if you want to pull out your hair. He covered it all: hunter gatherers, microbiom, antinutrients, inflammation, LDL, fasting, but he also discovered something no one is talking about… visceral fat! And his recipe for losing it (no exercise needed!). Once you lose it, you will become extremely healthy, but also more beautiful! in addition, body builders are dying from CVDs caused by visceral fat, so BB is among the deadliest physical activities out there. There are so many nuggets, it would be great to force BBM crew to watch it and having their faces recorded ❤

EDIT: it’s getting better and better. If you have an hour or two of your life to toss away, listen to this, you won’t regret it.

Yea…he’s been putting out nonsense for years, unfortunately.

What’s interesting to me here, is that he doesn’t seem to know much about his own pet topic, visceral fat. While it is harmful in and of itself, it is a downstream effect of much more harmful fat located in the liver, which is downstream of the subcutaneous space (under the skin) getting full. Cutting it out (the visceral fat) doesn’t help, and most people with obesity, visceral fat accounts for \< 5% of total body fat. People often conflate the fat under the skin in the abdomen with the visceral fat when it comes to aesthetics. Bodybuilders as a population have some of the lowest visceral fat numbers in the world, though early death does happen, mostly as a consequence of cardiovascular complications related to anabolic abuse. Ironically, exercise is one of the most potent ways to reduce VAT…

Covered this all here:

Yeah, I still cannot decide what’s worse: the things said (one has to hear it to believe it), the way they are explained (as if the audience is composed of mentally challenged funghi), the fact that the host takes him seriously, or the vast majority of the comments under the video. Maybe it’s just me being too deep into the weeds around these topics and the language, analogies amd explanations he uses are considered “accessible language for a layperson”.

Oh well…

Yes, I agree. Sometime it feels completely pointless to engage…but we’re still here!
