Reaching failure

I understand that my question is a minor detail and that if I’m close to failure I’m probably good either way, but I was curious about something. When I’m at the end of a hard set on an exercise im
intentionally taking to failure I sometimes take like 2-3 seconds between reps to squeeze out a couple more. I wouldn’t get these reps if I didn’t take the mini rest pause. Would it be just as efffective to just keep the same exact rep cadence until failure or is it worth the mini break to get the extra rep?

I don’t think it matters at all. Carry on, sir!

Aren’t these known as cluster sets ?

They can be, but where’s the line between a cluster set and a traditional set? Either way, when studied, it doesn’t really seem to matter.
