My name is Imran and I live in Sweden. I am 35 years old and I have been training and running for almost 20 years, mostly consistently. I am on warfarin since 6 months back due to APS related blood clots I got this winter and I Will take it for the rest om my life due to me having Antiphospholid Antibody Syndrome. I do cardio twice a week and strength training 3 times a week.
My specialist/hematologist Said that I can basically live a normal life but that I should be mindful of what I eat and avoid activities which could increase the risk of falling due to higher bleeding risk from Waran.
But my question is whether I can compete in marathon in the future while being on Waran, as long as I am mindful of hydration, electrolight and calorieintake? What are your thoughts and what does the research and specialists show/say? Thank You!
I understand this is a stressful diagnosis that can increase anxiety over complications like bleeding. However, my advice is the same as I laid out in this prior thread:
Okay I understand, thanks man. Just a last question, have you or Jordan or any doctor both of you know, had patients who have run marathon while on warfarin? Thank You again and Kind regards, Imran
