Sensitivity after thigh contusion

In December I fell full force onto the corner of something and hit my thigh. Pain and swelling that you would expect occurred (as pictured). I found that I did not have pain during workouts and maybe just a mild discomfot. So I continued my regular 3x a week workouts. It naturally went away within a few weeks.

Fast forward 4 months and there is absolutely no visual evidence of it and there is no pain during any movements from it. HOWEVER, I do have 1 concern. My “good” leg isn’t sensitive at all to a firm press (unless you really dig in.) But even a slightly firm press in that area gives a very weak pain/sensitivity.

I would have thought everything would be healed by now unless there is some kind of lasting damage. My concern would be that there might be Myositis Ossificans that could rear their ugly head in the future and contribute to some kind of tear. But I know nothing about this exact field.

Should I be concerned?

I do not think this is something to be worried about.

Even if there was some post-traumatic myositis ossificans, there is nothing specific to do about it.

Thank you for the response, that’s good to hear.

I realized I didn’t attach the image, so I have here. Judging by your answer, it doesn’t sound like the size of the hematoma would change your advice. But just in case it dose I have attached the pic on the post.

Thanks

… is that how it looks now, or how it looked at the time?

How it looked then! Visually there is nothing there now. That would be very bad if that’s how it looked months later haha

Right – though you’d be amazed the sorts of things people ignore for months/years and end up showing up to the doctor’s office with!
