Setting the lumbar spine in the squat.

Any tips on practicing setting the lumbar spine in the squat? Seems a lot easier in the deadlift.

You want to be in a normal anatomical spine position. You can think of crunching down your abs to get set-contract then and pull your ribs down toward your hips.

Ok, that makes sense. After setting the spine, is the valsalva enough to keep everything tight on the decent? Are there are things I should try to do to keep tight besides setting the spine and then doing the valsalva?

Work on not other thinking this-set your torso, breath, and work on STAYING tight. It all works together quite well, but you do need to actively both get yourself set and hold that position.
