Small clarifications about Strength II

I am switching to Strength II (gen 2) from LowFatigue for a temp. change. I just have a couple of minor questions, really small things:

  • I found this kind of prescription for the first time: “ 4 reps @RPE 6 (77%). Repeat weight x sets of 4 to RPE 8. (Cap at 2).“ I understand: Do 1 set @ 6, then do at most two sets with the same weight. Is that correct? But they won’t be @ 8 right?
  • I am looking at the SL 4 day template, block 1. It has two push slots with high incline bench in the default setting. Is that recommended over a slight change? (i am thinking a change in the incline so that one of the two is more like a seated press)
  • In the press options I found „Supplemental Press (ME)“. What is it?

Thank you

Ebartoli,

Yes, you have the first prescription right. The back off sets may be @ RPE 8, or they may be less.

For the exercise selection, it’s up to you. I prefer more incline work when I’m chasing down OHP PRs, but I don’t have a strong preference for variety here.

ME Supplemental press stands for max effort. It’s an internal term I use when programming, though I don’t see it in any of the drop down menus on the strengthlifting tabs. I suspect it’s still in the tables and programming skeleton tabs still though. I would ignore it.
