I was struggling to do a good form with heavy weight, but now even struggling with medium weight. I am thinking to move back to very light weights, and working my form, is that a good idea since I lose a great amount of progress I did make?
I am struggling with things like, keep tight, keep the weight in the mid foot, both squating and deadlift. 0 consistence in my form.
Hello! So this is really not enough information for us to provide this type of feedback/coaching. We don’t know what program you are doing, what type of reload you’ve already done, and what your form trouble actually is.
I can tell you that there is ALWAYS work to be done on your form, so just moving back to artificially light weight is usually not the right answer unless you need to correct something quite significant.
Do you agree with Mike T’s general criteria for this issue: if your lift would pass in competition and you’re not so far off as to risk injury, keep increasing the weight?
